Ionia Weekly Standard, 13 Jun 1890

Jacob Schaffer, of North Plains, died at his home on Sunday last, aged 69 years.  
Mr. S. had lived on the farm where he died, nearly 38 years, and was a highly 
esteemed man in his vicinity.  Funeral was from the Union church Wednesday 
forenoon.

[Transcriber's Note:  There is a notation on the obituary card that he was buried 
in North Plains Cemetery.]
