At the time of his death Mr. Schaffer was 72 years of age. Mr. Schaffer was for many years a farmer in Easton Township, his farm being located near Haynor station. He is a veteran of the Civil war. The body was brought to Ionia Monday afternoon. Charles Girard and Robert Gebhart are both nephews, and Mrs. Amel Rubach is a niece of Mr. Schaffer. Those wishing to view the remains may do so before 8:30 Wednesday morning at the Bradley-Sparks chapel. The funeral will be held from the church of SS. Peter & Paul Wednesday morning at 9:00 o’clock. Burial will take place in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
