The Ionia Standard, Friday, June 10, 1885
George Schaufele, well known to most Ionians, dropped dead at Page & Wilson’s 
warehouse Wednesday afternoon.  He was troubled with the heart disease and 
complained of a pain in his breast.  He sat down on a barrel and soon after 
fell over on the floor.  He died in a moment or two.  Mr. Schaufele had been 
in the employ of Mr. Page for over 80 years and was universally respected.  He 
leaves a wife and five children.
