Fred Scheid, aged 54 years, well known and prominent Miriam farmer, who had been
in poor health for several years, and who had been critically ill at his home
south of the city for several days prior to his death, passed away at his home
on Thursday morning at about ten o’clock.  Mr. Scheid was an energetic man and
was always in the front ranks with those who stood for the advancement of the
community and up until the decline in his health was prominent in many ways. 
Funeral services were held from St. Mary Catholic church at Miriam, with Rev.
Fr. Dorr officiating, on Monday morning at nine o’clock.  the members of the
Holy Name society of which Mr. Scheid was a member, attended the funeral in a
body.  The remains were laid to rest in the Miriam cemetery.  Surviving are the
widow and two daughters, Ruth and Marian, also a number of brothers and sisters.
