Amata M. Scheid, 68, 6117 E. Ellison Road, Belding, passed away Monday, June 24,
1996, at Heartland Health Care Center, Ionia.  She was born Aug. 15, 1927, in
Ionia, the daughter of Thomas and Helen Krywanski Lehman.

She graduated in 1945 from St. Peter and Paul Academy in Ionia.  She was
formerly employed at Ionia Pottery and the former Ionia State Hospital.  She was
also a purchasing agent at the Riverside Correctional Facility.  She was a
member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Miriam.

She was married Dec. 8, 1958, in Ionia, to Gerald T. Scheid, who preceded her in
death Feb. 8, 1985.

She is survived by one sister-in-law, Sarah Scheid of Belding; two aunts, Esther
Krywanski and Theresa Lehman, both of Ionia; several nieces and nephews; and
special friend Julia Spratto.

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Church, Miriam, with the
Rev. George Darling officiating.  Interment will be in Mount Olive Cemetery,
Ionia.  Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home,
Belding, with a vigil service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Howard Scheid officiating. 
Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Window Restoration Fund.
