Esther Iva Scheidt
Lake Odessa, MI. -Esther Iva Scheidt, age 81, of Lake Odessa, passed away on June 1,
2018 at Green Acres of Ionia.

She was born on December 6, 1936 to Frank and Ellen (Wilson) King in Sunfield. On
July 9, 1955 she married Donald Scheidt, Sr. and he preceded her in death on January 17,
1993.

Esther loved children and started babysitting at the age 15. She also enjoyed baking
and cooking, making sure the kids always had a homemade snack after school. Esther and 
Donald owned the laundromat in lake Odessa for many years.

Esther is survived by her children, Jack (Radgeline) Scheidt, John Scheidt, James
Scheidt Sr., Julie Lindsley, Jo Ellen (Royal) Thomason, Janette (Ray) Thompson, Jerri
Crissman, Donald (Tammy) Scheidt, Jr.; 21 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; and one
great-great-grandchild; siblings, Hazel (Kendall) Herbert, Marilyn Erb, Doris King,
Beverly Erb. Richard (Shirley ) King, Ray (Pat) King; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ellen; spouse, Donald Scheidt,
Sr.; siblings, Lee Douglas King, Wilma Tasker, Linda Hoffman and Robert King; In-laws,
Betty Scheidt and Charlie Crissman, Jr.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the Koops Funeral Chapel,
Lake Odessa.

Burial took place in the lakeside cemetery. lake Odessa immediately following.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Green Acres of Ionia or Spectrum
