Services Held for Maudie Scheidt
Mrs. Maudie R. Scheidt, 66, of Brown Rd., Lake Odessa passed away Friday morning 
on her birthday at the Blodgett Memorial Hospital, Grand Rapids. She had been 
hospitalized for six weeks from injuries received in a car accident near Cedar 
Springs June 18.

Mrs. Scheidt was born in Minot, N.Dakota, August 2, 1908 the daughter of John 
and Mildred (Stevens) Sirrine.

She was married to Bernard Scheidt July 17, 1947 and her married life had been 
spent in the Alto and Lake Odessa areaa.

She was a member of the Congregational Church and Women Fellowship of Lake 
Odessa.

Surviving area her husband, Bernard J.; five daughters, Mrs. Gene(Frances) Berg, 
and Mrs.Michael (Joan) Jungle both of Paw Paw and Mrs.Dale (Carol) Phelps of 
Cedar Springs, a son Irwin Nash of Grand Rapids; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-
grandchildren; three sisters and one brother; eight step-daughters, Mrs. 
Henry(Donna) Besko of Ovid, Mrs Herman (Marvel) Bessesmer of Hasting's. 
Mrs.Henry(Barbara) Busche of Chesaning, Mrs Howard (Marian) McVay, Mrs Lawrence 
(Phyllis) Lackey, Mrs Vance (Arlene) Lackey and Mrs.Charles (Gretchen) Farrell 
all of Lake Odessa and Mrs Thomas (Peggy) Rider of Central Lake; three step-
sons, Roger Scheidt of Williamston, Richard Scheidt rural Charlotte and Donald 
Scheidt of Lake Odessa; step-grand and great children.

Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 at the Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel, 
Lake Odessa. Rev. Gary Evans and Rev. James Leasure officiated with burial in 
Lakeside cemetery.
