The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, January 30, 1941
Joseph Scheiern, 82, a former Saranac resident, died Thursday morning at the 
home of his daughter, Mrs. Allen L. Normand, in Detroit.  He had made his home 
with his daughter for the past seven years.  He had lived the major part of 
his life on a farm near Saranac.

Surviving are two sons, Wheeler of Ionia, and Julius B. of Saranac, four 
daughters, Mrs. Fred Confer and Mrs. Norman of Detroit, Mrs. C. B. Lane of 
Pontiac, and Mrs. William Schafer of Grand Rapids; 14 grandchildren and one 
great grandchild.

Funeral services have not been arranged.  Interment will be held at Vinewood 
cemetery at Edmore.
