She was a devoted member of the Evangelical church, near the village, and leaves many close friends besides her adopted daughter Mrs. Gertrude Corey and one brother David Smith of Lake Odessa. There are several nieces and nephews. The daughter has been her comfort since she took her when she was a little child. The funeral was held at the Evangelical church Monday afternoon with the pastor Rev. G. E. Klopfenstein officiating. A quartet composed of Benj. Schneider, Harold Smith and the Bates brothers furnished the singing. Burial was at Lakeside cemetery. Obituary: Anna K. Schelter, nee Smith, was born in Sunfield Township, Eaton County on November 8, 1861, and died September 17, 1937, aged 75 years, 10 months and 20 days. She was united in marriage to John H. Schelter, November 16, 1892, who preceded her in death 20 years ago. She leaves to mourn their loss, one adopted daughter Mrs. Gertrude Corey, one brother David Smith of Lake Odessa, and a number of nieces and nephews, a host of relatives and friends. She was a lifelong member of the Evangelical church. Burial was at Lakeside cemetery. “Servant of God, well done!
