June 19, 1925 HARRY SCHELTER DIES AT HOME OF DAUGHTER Forty Years Resident, Dies After Months of Suffering Harry Schelter who has been a sufferer for many months died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Tillie Shellenbarger Friday afternoon and the funeral was held Monday at the same home. The Schelter family is one of splendid standing in the communities of Lake Odessa and Woodbury and have made many friends. OBITUARY Harry Franklin Schelter was born September 11, 1862 at Marshall, Michigan and departed this life June 12th, 1925 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Tillie Shellenbarger, aged sixty-two years eight monghs and one day. In 1885 he was united in marriage to Rose Hammond of Sebewa. To this union were born five children, namely, Mrs. Lulu Schary of Ionia, Mrs. Tillie Shellenbarger of Lake Odessa, Mr. Orma Schelter of Lansing, Arlie and Earl Schelter of Lake Odessa. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and three brothers, John, Lewis and Sylvester. He was a good neighbor, always ready to lend a helping hand. He will be missed by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn their loss, a wife, five children, one sister, two brothers, four grand children and a host of friends. His Suffering is over, His work is done, And he is fully blessed, He fought the fight, The victory won, And he had gone to rest. The funeral was held at the Sellenbarger home where he died, Monday afternoon, Rev. A.L. Spafford officiating and Mrs. Spafford sang some beautiful songs. Burial was at Lake Side cemetery. Those in attendance from away were Mr. and Mrs. Jake Schelter and George Schelter, brothers of Woodbury, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Meyers of Grand Ledge, Mr .and Mrs. Orma Schelter of Lansing and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schray. CARD OF THANKS We wish to express our sincere thanks to the relatives, friends and neighbors for their sympathy and kindness during the sickness and death of our husband and father, also to Rev. Spafford for his comforting words and Mrs. Spafford for her singing. Thanks to the Odd Fellows, Merry Social Club, neighbors and friends for their beautiful flower, to the pall bearers and to the people who donated their cars. Mrs. Rose Schelter and children.
