Scherer, 53, of 343 Long Lake road, Orleans township, died Friday morning at Greenville Memorial hospital after being ill for four days. He was born in Roanoke, Va., February 2, 1898, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Scherer. He resided in Orleans for 20 years, moving there from Grand Rapids, where he married the former Rhea McManus in 1925. He was an electrician by trade. A veteran of World War I, he served for four years in the U.S. Navy. Surviving is the wife and two brothers. The body will repose at the family home from Saturday morning until Monday at 11:00 a.m., when it will be taken to the Palo Methodist church, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Homer will officiate. Interment services will be under the auspices of Palo lodge, F. and A. M.
