Allen H. Scheurer, of Ionia, age 84, passed away peacefully in his sleep on 
Dec. 10, 2008.

He was born on Aug. 22, 1924 to Albert “Bert” and Maude (Hopkins) Scheurer. He 
married Berneda C. Roberts on Aug. 16, 1948. He was born and raised on an 
Orange Township farm. He spent his entire life in Orange Township as a dairy 
farmer. He loved farming, working with livestock and working the land. He was a 
lifelong Farm Bureau member and was involved with various dairy organizations 
over the years. In his younger years he spent many winters working on his 
tractors. 

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Berneda; his daughters, Mary E. 
Scheurer, Sue A. Scheurer and Deborah (Ron) Thelen; sons, Michael (Cindy) 
Scheurer and Craig (Jill) Scheurer; his grandchildren and great-grandchild and 
several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Donna; granddaughter Kianna; 
brothers, Harold (Bertha), Shird (Maxine), Kenneth (Jeanette) and Robert 
(Joyce) Scheurer and sister, Jean (Leonard) Hausserman.

The funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Clint Galloway at 11 a.m. 
Monday, Dec. 15, 2008 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, 
Ionia with Interment at Balcom Cemetery, Ionia. The family will receive friends 
at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Online condolences may be
