Ionia Daily Standard, page 4, 29 Sep 1917

John Scheurer died this morning at his home, 329 Taylor alley, after many years
of paralysis.  He was 73 years old.  Mrs. Scheurer died a year and a half ago. 
There are four children – Ada and Louis, who have lived with their father, Will
of this city and Otto of California.  The funeral will be conducted by Rev. J.S.
Deabler at the home at 2:30 Monday afternoon, with burial in Oakhill cemetery.
