Scheurer Old Resident of Ionia, Dies Sunday Miss Louisa C. Scheurer, 72, one of the pioneer residents of Ionia, passed away Sunday at the home of her niece, Mrs. E.R. Lesher, of West Sebewa, following a stroke of paralysis Wednesday. Miss Scheurer went to the home of her niece two weeks ago. She had been in failing health for five years. Miss Scheurer was born in Ann Arbor, February 28, 1854. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John G. Scheurer and came to Ionia with her parents at the age of four years. Miss Scheurer was a faithful member of the Evangelical church nearly all her life and was always an active worker. She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Emma Phillips of Detroit, Mrs. D.F. Brown of Chicago, and Mrs. Bertha Jensen of Montana. She is also survived by two brothers, John A. Scheurer of Ionia and Fred W. Scheurer of Orange township. Miss Scheurer is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held from the residence, 216 East Lincoln avenue, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will take place in Oak Hill cemetery.
