Sentinel-Std. - Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1942

Mrs. John A. Scheurer, 77, died Wednesday morning at her home at 422 North 
Jackson street, after an illness of several months. She was born February 16, 
1865, in Battle Creek, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Smith.

Mrs. Scheurer was graduated from the Ionia high school in 1884 and taught school 
until her marriage November 16, 1887, to John A. Scheurer. Active in club work, 
Mrs. Scheurer was a member of the First Baptist church of Ionia.

Surviving her besides her husband John, are four children, Louis Scheurer of 
Detroit, Mrs. C.G. McMien of Detroit, Mrs. Wayne Quigley of Grand Rapids and 
Elsie Scheurer at home. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Myers 
funeral home, Rev. George Woolcock, pastor of the First Baptist church will 
officiate and burial will be in Highland Park cemetery.
