Ionia Sentinel - Standard
Albert J. Scheurer, 89, of Goodwin road, Orange township, died Friday morning at 
the Ionia Manor after being a patient there for 3 1/2 years.  Mr. Scheurer was 
born in Orange township, June 4, 1889, the son of Fred and Phobe Adgate 
Scheurer.  He attended Riker school and lived in Orange township all his life.  
He married the former Maud Hopkins June 7, 1911 in Lyons and they made their 
home on the farm on Goodwin road.  She preceded him in death November 5, 1950.

Survivors include five sons, Harold and Allen of rural Ionia, Shirley and 
Kenneth of rural Lyons and Robert of rural Portland; one daughter, Mrs. Leonard 
(Jean) Hausserman Ionia; one sister, Mrs. Freda Hausserman of rural Ionia 24 
grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Services are Monday at 2 pm from the Leddick funeral home with Rev Clinton 
Bradley-Galloway of Woodland Methodist church officiating.  Burial is in Balcom 
cemetery.  The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home 
Saturday.
