She had been in failing health for the past two years, but had been seriously ill the past six months. She was born in Germany, February 17, 1845, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Koch. When a small child she left Germany with her parents for Canada where they lived until 1866 when they came to Michigan and settled in Remus. In 1870 she was married to Gottlob Schick, of Ionia, and they began housekeeping in Ionia on Hall street near the home where she died. She was a member of the Evangelical church of Ionia. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Barnes, at home; and Mrs. William Dent, of Lapeer; two sons, Fred Schick, at home, and L. G. Schick, of Lansing; one sister, Miss Lena Cook, of Belding, and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon. A private service will be held from the residence at 2 o’clock for the relatives and family, and public services will be conducted from the Evangelical church at 2:30, with Rev. A. L. Bingaman, pastor of that church officiating. Interment will be at the family lot at Highland Park cemetery.
