Ionia Sentinel Standard, 16 Jan 1965

Mrs. Edna M. Schild, 73, of 413 King street, died early Saturday morning at 
Ionia hospital where she was admitted Friday afternoon.  She retired in 1960 as 
bookkeeper for Ionia county department of social welfare after 26 years.  Born 
June 16, 1891, in Hancock she had resided in Ionia since her marriage in 1915 
to Carl Schild.  He died in 1961.  Mrs. Schild attended Quincy schools and 
graduated from Houghton high school.  She was a member of Order of Eastern Star 
and Ionia Business and Professional Women’s club.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Marion Bergh of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Marjorie 
Eddy of Marion, Iowa, Mrs. Carlene Munn of Ionia, and Mrs. Evelyn Kirsch of 
Waterville, Ohio; three sons, Richard of Ionia, James of Morrison lake, and 
Robert of Grand Blanc; 12 grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Alma Lindgren of 
Hancock, Mrs. Charles Swedman of Hammond, Ore., Mrs. Esther Nordstrom of 
Helena, Mont., and Mrs. Gertrude Scheer of Grand Rapids.  

Funeral service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Myers funeral home with burial in 
the family lot at Highland Park cemetery.
