Funeral services and burial were there. Mr. Schild was a native of Ionia and died on the day that his brother, Peter, was buried. He had been associated with him in business as a blacksmith in Ionia for years. During the latter years that he lived in Ionia he was a chicken fancier and conducted his poultry enterprise on the State road. Like his brother he was of a creative mind and invented a machine for dusting chickens with louse powder. At one time this was manufactured on a large scale and until recent years he continued to receive royalties on it. He and his wife moved to Cleveland, O., over 30 years ago and had conducted a rooming house while there. Since they moved to Cleveland, their only son, Hugo, died. Mrs. Schild was formerly Rokie Larson a native of Denmark, but a resident of Greenville at the time of her marriage. She and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Miller, who lives in Los Angeles, Cal., survives.
