                        MRS. SCHILDS DEAD; GRANDDAUGHTER DYING
   Ionia Resident for Many Years Passed Away Today; Her Son's Daughter Very Low.

Mrs. Christina Schilds, widow of Henry Schilds, a resident of Ionia for many years,

passed away at the family home, 312 King street, this morning at about 10 o'clock 
after being in failing for many months. Mrs. Schilds was seriously ill last winter,

but was able to be about the house and had walked outdoors a little. She was taken 
seriously ill a week ago Saturday.

Trouble has not come into the Schilds home empty handed during the past few months.

Little Miss Marion Schilds, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schilds, and granddaughter

of Mrs. Schilds, is reported as being very low at the Blodgett hospital at Grand 
Rapids. Mr. and Mrs. Schilds and Mrs. Nettie Gardner were called there at noon. The

little girl underwent the third moistoid operation a few days ago and it is thought

that another operation will be performed today. There is little hope held out for 
her recovery.

Mr. Schilds died three years ago this month. Mrs. Schilds was 65 years of age the 
third day of this month. Mrs. Schilds is survived by one son, Carl Schilds, who 
lived at his mothers home. Mrs. Nettie Gardner, of Detroit, a niece of Mrs. Schilds,

has lived with her since a small child.

No funeral arrangements will be made until Mr. and Mrs. Schilds and Mrs. Gardner 
return from Grand Rapids. 

The funeral for Mrs. Henry Schilds will be held from the late home, 312 King street,

Monday morning, at 10 o'clock. Burial will take place in the Highland Park cemetery

beside the body of her husband.
