Schipper, 92, of 632 N. Jackson St., died Thursday morning at Ionia County Memorial Hospital after being a patient there the past six days. She was born in Lorraine County, Ohio, July 28, 1886, the daughter of George and Minnie Beesing Streicher. She attended schools in Ohio and was married to Paul Schipper in 1906 in Amherst, Ohio. They made their home in Ohio and Kentucky until moving to Ionia, living most of their married life in the home on North Jackson Street. He preceded her in death in March of 1947. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid and the Mission Society at the church. She is survived by three daughters, Beulah and Ione at home and Mrs. Gaylord (Velma) Hausserman of Ionia; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. A son, Victor, preceded her in death Jan. 27, 1976. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday from St. John’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Leo Kostizen officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. The family will be at the Leddick Funeral Home Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for her church, contributions may be left at the funeral home.
