Ionia Sentinel Standard, 29 Mar 1966

One of Ionia’s senior citizens, Mrs. Minnie M. Schlernitzauer, 95, of 242 East
Washington street, died Monday morning at Ionia County Memorial hospital where
she had been a patient the past four days.  She had lived at the East Washington
street home the past 32 years.  She was born April 4, 1870 in New Albany, Ind.,
the daughter of William and Catherine Bierbeawer.  In 1886 she was married at
Durhamville, N.Y., to Frank M. Schlernitzauer and they moved to Ionia in 1921.

Mr. and Mrs. Schlernitzauer and their two sons operated the Frank’s store on
Main street for many years, until 1950.  Mr. Schlernitzauer died in August 1951.

Surviving are two sons, Will and Roy of Ionia; four grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted by the Rev. Lester Bailey at Boynton funeral home,
Thursday at 2 p.m.  Interment will be at Highland Park Mausoleum.
