Sentinel-Std. - Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1993

IONIA- Catherine Elizabeth Schlernitzauer, 84, of Ionia, died early Monday 
morning Ionia County Memorial Hospital.

She was born September 8, 1908, in Ionia, the daughter of Noble and Mary Brown 
Micks and spent her entire life in Ionia. She was educated in SS. Peter and 
Paul's Academy, was a member of the SS. Peter and Paul'
s Catholic Church, and former member of the Rosary Society. She married LeRoy 
Schlernitzauer on February 5, 1927, and he preceded her in death in 1968.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Prine of Ovid and Carmon Steele of 
Howell; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two great great 
grandchildren; and one nephew. 

She was preceded in death by one son, Frank; four sisters; and three brothers.

Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday at SS. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church, 
with the Rev. Charles Hall officiating.

Burial will be in Mr. Olivet Cemetery.

The family will be at the Cook Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 
8:30 p.m. A scripture service will be 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established for the SS. peter and Paul's Catholic Church, in 
care of the funeral home.
