Schlosser, 79 of Kelsey highway, route two, Ionia, died at the Ionia County Memorial hospital Monday night at 8:15 as result of injuries received in a traffic accident. State police said the accident occurred when Schlosser suffered a heart attack. Schlosser was in an automobile accident about 5 p.m. at old US:6 and Kelsey highway, according to state police of the Ionia post. Officers said Schlosser was driving a car south on Kelsey highway approaching the intersection. The car went out of control and struck a telephone pole and tree about eight (several words could not make out) highway on US16. The car was a total loss. A passenger, Charles Yocum, 47, of route two, Ionia, suffered slight cuts and bruises on the left side of the head. Both were taken to the hospital by ambulance. Yocum told officers Schlosser appeared to have collapsed at the wheel of his auto before the crash. Schlosser died at 8:20 Monday evening at Ionia County Memorial hospital. An autopsy was performed by Dr. Charles E. Black Tuesday morning. He said Schlosser had suffered a coronary attack previous to the accident and had died of a crushed chest and skull fracture. He was born October 5, 1879 at his present farm in Orange township the son of John and Alice Schlosser. His grandfather came from Germany in 1871 and settled on the same farm. Mr. Schlosser had been a farmer and implement dealer all his life. He operated custom thrashing and custom sawing for many years. He was married February 5, 1901 to Bertha Antcliff of Belding. She and one daughter and three sons preceded him in death. Surviving are one son, John Thomas Schlosser of Ionia; two daughters, Mrs. Harold Scheurer of Orange township and Mrs. Lloyd G. Whipple of Greenville, five grandchildren and three great granddaughters. Funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. from Boynton's funeral home by the Rev. Fr. John S. Fons. Interment will be in Highland Park mausoleum. Members of the family will be at Boynton's funeral home Tuesday and Wednesday evening from 7 until 9 o'clock.
