Lake Odessa Wave - Thursday April 13, 1944

WILLIAM SCHMALZRIED, 78, DIED SUNDAY MORNING
William Schmaizried, 76, passed away Sunday morning after an illness of a year, 
at his home on the south side of Jordan Lake, in Woodland township.

He had lived at this location most of his life, having purchased the old 
homestead about 40 years ago when his father and brother took up homesteading 
near Levering.

Deceased is survived by one daughter, Mrs.Glenn Hazel and husband, and three 
grandchildren who made their home with him, also the brother at Levering.

Funeral services were held from Zion Lutheran church in Woodland with the Rev. 
Paul Geiger officiating Tuesday afternoon. Burial was in Lakeside cemetery.
