Sentinel-Std. - Wednesday, June 7, 1978

IONIA- Marvin E. Schmidt, 68m if 2007 North State, died Tuesday evening at Ionia 
County Memorial hospital following a long illness.

He was born April 8, 1910 in St. Johns, the son of Charles and Fredricka 
Schmidt.

Mr. Schmidt attended Lyons high school and was a retired employee of the Lyons 
and Ionia public schools. He lived in Lyons for 35 years before moving to Ionia 
in 1966.

He was a member of Lyons Baptist church and for 35 years was a member of the 
Lyons volunteer fire department.

He married the former Lucille Randall in August 1931.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Barbara Adams of Flushing, 
Mrs. Marcia Swank of Portage and Mrs. Julia Gary of Saginaw; one brother, Albert 
of Orleans and eight grandchildren.

Services are Friday at 1 pm from Lyons Baptist church with Rev. Paul Carmichael 
officiating.

Burial is in Sunset Memorial gardens.

Until 11 am Friday, Mr. Schmidt will be at the Hull memorial chapel in Muir.
