Sentinel-Sd. - Sat. March 22, 1980

HASTINGS- Louis F. Schmidt, 93, 173 S. Main, Woodland, died Thursday at the 
Provincial House in Hastings, where he had been a patient for two weeks.

He was born on April 8, 1886, in Chicago, Ill. the son of August and Johanna 
Lemki Schmidt.

Mrs. Schmidt attended schools in Northern Michigan and was employed at Dow 
Chemical in Midland for 33 years, until his retirement in 1951.

He was married to Ethel Fisher in 1909. She died in 1961, Mr. Schmidt was 
married to Mable Kaiser in December 1967. She died the following year.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Esther Appelman of Hastings; seven 
grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. 

A daughter, Mrs. Eva Rivett and four grandchildren preceded him in death.

Services will be at the Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel Monday 1 p.m. with the Rev. 
George Speas officiating.

Burial will bein the Woodland Memorial Park.
