Daily Sentinel –Wednesday, 19 September 1906

The funeral for the late August Schmidt was attended this afternoon from the 
German Lutheran church, North Jefferson Street, Rev. B. H. Succop 
officiating.  The church was crowded, the deceased being one of the pioneers 
and generally esteemed German, who enjoyed the respect of all who knew him.  
He was 84 years of age, and the interment was in the Balcom Cemetery.
