HELEN A. SCHMITT

Helen A. Schmitt, age 71, of Portland, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017. 
Helen was born November 6, 1945 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the daughter of 
Philip and Blanche (Subachus) Souza. She was a long time member of St. 
Patrick Catholic Church and took joy in caring for the elderly. Helen also 
enjoyed knitting, cooking and watching soap operas. 

She is survived by her husband Joseph Schmitt; daughter Ann Schmitt; sons, 
James Schmitt Richard Clark, Mark Clark, and Steven Clark; grandson, 
Christopher; and several sisters and brothers-in-law. Helen is preceded in 
death by het parents; son, Paul Clark; and brother, Philip. 

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Larry King at 10:00 
a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2017 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland.  The 
family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Lehman 
Funeral Home, 201 E. Bridge, St., Portland. The Rosary will be prayed on 
Friday evening at 7:30 p.m.. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral
