Excerpts from Lansing Obituary

JOHN J. SCHMITT
Died Friday April 30, 2021- age 77 of Portland.
Joseph was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland.
He enjoyed fishing, playing cards at the Senior Center, Spending time with his 
grandson, C.J. & talking on the phone with his nephew, Ronnie.
Was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Helen; an infant brother; 
brothers, Jerome Schmitt and Leon (Neva) Schmitt; sisters, Helen Krouse & Mary 
Ann (Terry) Allen.
Survived by his children, Ann Schmitt & James (Ann) Schmitt; grandson C.J.; 
brothers, Robert (Mary Ann)Schmitt & Reynold (Florence) Schmitt; sisters, 
Theresa Patterson & Germaine Schmitt; many nieces & nephews.
Mass will be Wed. May 5, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Burial will follow at St.Mary's Cemetery, Westphalia.
Visitation Tuesday 3-7 at Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. 
Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m.
