DONALD F. SCHMITZ

Donald Frederick Schmitz, age 86, was called to be with Our Heavenly Father 
on May 22, 2017.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Louise (Schafer); his children, 
Dale (Faye), Linda (Predeceased), (Terry, Celia Bradley), Steven (Cindy), 
Karen (John Seefeldt), William (Tracy), and Anne (Jeff Branch): his thirteen 
grandchildren, Emily, Diana, Donald, JC, Jennifer, Kaitlin, Robert, Evan, 
Kyle, Jacob, Bailey, Michael, and Ashley; and one great-grandchild, Aili. 

Donald was born to Peter and Catherine (Feldpausch) Schmitz of Fowler. He was 
a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Westphalia, St. Joseph Society, and 
the Knights of Columbus. He was a devout man of faith and committed to his 
family.

The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 
27, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic church, Westphalia with Rev. Eric Weber 
presiding. A Rosary service will be held Friday evening, May 26th, at 7 p.m. 
at St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia St. The rosary will be prayed 
Saturday morning at 9 a.m. at the funeral chapel and the family will receive 
guests there until the time of the service. arrangements are entrusted to 
Lehman Funeral Homes. Online condolences may be made at
