The Ionia Daily Standard, Wednesday, March 28, 1883


The death of Frank Schmucker is announced.  He died at his home at 8 o’clock 
last evening.  He had been sick for a long time, and his death, though sudden, 
was not unexpected.  Deceased was in his 55th year, having been born in 
Prussia, September 15th, 1829.  He came to Ionia in 1856, and has been in 
business here for 23 years, during the whole of which time he has been held in 
esteem as a man of strict integrity and generous impulses.  He was prominent 
member of St. Peters and Paul’s catholic church, from which his funeral will 
take place on Friday morning.  He leaves a wife and four children.
