Peter and Paul church Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. Rita was born in Berlin township 18 years ago and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schnabel. She attended the Coon school where she graduated from the eighth grade, and the SS. Peter and Paul academy, graduating in 1931 with the highest honors in the class. She won the oratorical contest in 1931. Upon completion of her high school course she attended the part time school for one year, studying secretarial work, later attending the Detroit business institute for a year where she received her degree as bachelor of commerce in August 1933. She worked in Detroit for a short time before starting work as a committee clerk in the house of representatives in Lansing, where she was employed at the time of death. She had been living on North Walnut street in Lansing, coming home every weekend. She is survived by her parents, a sister, Eleanor at home, and a brother, James, working in Grand Rapids.
