Leonard P. Schneider, 61, of 811 Lyons road died late Saturday afternoon at 
his home.  He was a retired employee of TRW after working there 17 years.  A 
member of Knights of Columbus over 25 years, he also belonged to the VFW Dads’ 
club.

Surviving are his wife, Regina; three daughters, Mrs. Janice Kavanagh of 
Pewamo, Mrs. Elaine Eck of East Lansing and Mrs. Kathleen Spitzley of 
Portland; three sons, William, Charles and Daniel of Portland; 19 
grandchildren.  He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Heckman of Pewamo, 
Loretta Schneider of Portland; six brothers, Richard, Harold and John of 
Portland, Joseph of Chicago, Ill., Raymond of St. Johns and Edwin of Lansing.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic church 
in Portland.  Rev. Joseph Malewitz will officiate and interment will be at 
Portland cemetery.  Bearers will be Edward Heckman, Kenneth, Robert and Roger 
Schneider, Dale Huhn and Gerald Hoppes.
