Schneider, 58, of Pewamo, passed away Feb. 19, 2004. He was born on May 17, 1945 in Pewamo the son of Clemens and Rita (Goodman) Schneider. Mr. Schneider was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Pewamo Knights of Columbus Council #8071. He was a Veteran of Vietnam War serving in the United States Army, was a member of the Hubbardston American Legion Post, and the Ionia Moose Lodge. He was a Supevisor at General Motors, retiring after 36 years of service, and loved to hunt, fish, camp, and traveling in their fifth-wheel camper. He was preceded in death by his father; baby brother, Clemens Schneider. Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Sharon; children, Glenn (Stacey) Schneider, and Heather (Tom) Bomgaars of Plainwell; grand daughter, Ashleigh Bomgaars; mother, Rita Schneider; mother-in-law, Marjorie Widrig of Eastpointe, MI; brothers, LaVern (Joan) Schneider of St. Johns, Roger (Special Friend Sue) Schneider of Pewamo, and Jerome (Mary Jane) Schneider of Pewamo; sisters, Linda (Jerry) Huhn of Portland, Sandy Thelen of Pewamo, and Kathy (Gary) Gay of Davison; several nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Charlon O. Mason, Pastor at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 23, 2004 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rite of Committal following at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Hubbardston American Legion Post. The family will receive friends at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22. The rosary will be prayed at 3 and 8 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland.
