Marian A. Schneider, our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, 
died peacefully in her home surrounded by  her family on March 13, 2004, at the 
age of 85.

She was born in Westphalia June 13, 1918, the daughter of Anthony and Susanna 
(Lueckenback) Huhn. Marian was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church 
in Portland, and also worked at St. Patrick School for 17 years, retiring in 
1978 with her husband, Richard. She married Richard M. Schneider on Sept. 19, 
1939 and he preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1995, after 55 years of marriage.

Mrs. Schneider was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Ruth Ann; 
great-granddaughter, Katrin Ritzema; brothers, Arnold, Harold and Raymond Huhn; 
sisters, Minnie Hoppes, Regina Schneider and Mildred Nurenburg.

Surviving are daughters, Joanne (Armon) Platte, Mary Lue (Dick) Brown, both of 
Portland, and Judy (Clare) Koenigsknecht of Fowler; sons, Dennis (Ann) 
Schneider, Frank (Rose) Schneider, Pat (Ann Marie) Schneider, Kevin (Teresa) 
Schneider, all of Portland, Den (Karen) Schneider of Wasilla, Ark., Ed. 
(Janice) Schneider of Westphalia, and Jay (Kathy) Schneider of Marietta, Ga.; 
40 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several sister and brother-in-laws, 
nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Rev. Charles D. Hall, Pastor 
March 16 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal followed 
at Portland Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Schrauben-Lehman Funeral 
Home, Portland.
