LEAVES LONELY HOME ------------ Another of the faithful Christian women of a nearby community passed away Friday, Aug. 10, after a year of poor health She was a worker for many years in the Evangelical church between Lake Odessa and Woodbury where she had been a member for forty-five years. She was very tenderly cared for by her daughter Mrs. Leon Bates. The Schneider family have been substantial members of the Evangelical church. However the last few years have seen several gently fall away in death. The funeral was held at the church Monday afternoon with the pastor Rev. G. E. Klopfenstein assisted by Rev. W. F. Boettcher, a former pastor in charge. Interment was at Lakeside. OBITUARY Caroline Louise Eckardt, youngest daughter of Adam and Katherine Eckardt was born March 3, 1877, and passed away at the place of her birth August 10, 1934, at the age of 57 years, five months and seven days. She was united in marriage to Ben Schneider, May 3, 1900. To this union were born two daughters,Florence, deceased, and Mrs. Leona Bates. She was a devoted wife and mother, showing a deep interest in her family. She was ill for nearly a year and a half during which time she was cared for by her daughter, who supplied her every need. She jointed the Evangelical church at the age of twelve years and was a faithful member throughout the years. She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, one daughter Leona of Lake Odessa, three grandchildren, four sisters Miss Fredericka Eckardt of Woodbury, Mrs. Christina Euper of Woodland, Mrs Sarah Ostroth of Maple Grove and Mrs. Anna Finkbeiner of Middleville, and a host of friends. Those from away who attended the funeral of Mrs. Schneider were; Fred, Carl, Ed, Rose and Anna Martiney and Mrs. Lena Hartwick of Clinton: Mrs. and Mrs. Mike Klager of Ann Arbor; George Klager, Edwin Klager, Mr. and Mrs. Sigmund Klagar, Mr. and Mrs. Buermeister, Mr. and Mrs. Betts, Will Sauder of Bridgewater; Miss Alma Miller of Britton; Mr. and Mrs. C. VanJandt and Betty and Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Dorsey of Adrian, and Mrs. Oscar Schneider and daughter Betty of Petoskey.
