The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, June 14, 1976
Portland - Loretta Schneider, 62, of 353 Grape street, died June 11 at St. 
Lawrence hospital in Lansing.  She was born November 13, 1913 in Westphalia 
and was a lifelong resident of the area.  She worked for the state of Michigan 
for the past twelve years in the teacher retirement and budget department and 
was a member of the St. Patrick’s church, the Altar Society and the St. 
Patrick’s church choir.  She was also secretary-treasurer of the Portland 
Community Chest.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Heckman; six brothers: Richard, 
Harold and John Schneider of Portland; Joseph Schneider of Chicago, Ill.; 
Raymond of St. Johns and Edwin of Lansing.

Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the St. Patrick’s church in Portland.  
Father Donald Weber will officiate.  Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday 
at the Neller Funeral home in Portland.  Burial will be at the Portland 
cemetery.  Bearers will be Jams Heckman, William, Steven, Ray, Thomas and 
Kenneth Schneider.
