Ionia County News - Thurs. Aug. 3, 1933

The community was shocked to learn of the death of Mrs. L.H. Schnobble which 
occurred at the University hospital, Ann Arbor at 6:45 o’clock, Saturday 
morning, July 29.

Nellie H. Pierce was born in Smithfield, Maine, February 13, 1872. When she was 
about eleven years old her parents moved to Ionia from Cleveland, Tennessee. 
With the exception of winters, spent in Eustis, Florida, Mrs. Schnobble, whi, 
with her one sister that time.

Thirty-eight years ago she was united in marriage with L.H. Schnobble, who with 
her one sister, Mrs. S.A. Moran, of Ann Arbor, survives her.

Always active in the work of the Mrs. Preston class and the church of Christ, 
of which she was a devout member, Mrs. Schnobble kept up her church interests 
during the winters spent in Eustis. She was a valued worker in the church of 
Christ there where she was enrolled in the Women’s Bible Class and was 
prominent in social activities as well. 

Dr. Paul L. Stewart conducted the funeral which was held at 1:30, Tuesday 
afternoon, from the home in South Ionia. Mrs. Schnobble was carried to her last 
earthly resting place by six relatives who served as pall bearers: Arthur 
Denton, Fred Branson, Eddie Vandecar, Ward Branson, George Dunsmore and Hayden 
Nicholson.

The beautiful floral tributes were arranged by Mrs. J.D. Waldron, Mrs. Geo. 
Dunsmore and Miss Elsie Kitt.
