Catherine “Kay” A. Schrauben, 68, of Lyons, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 
2009. She was born on July 31, 1940 in Grand Ledge, MI the daughter of John 
and Lucile (Martin) Hoerner.  Mrs. Schrauben was a member of St. Mary Catholic 
Church in Westphalia and enjoyed gardening and going to auctions.  She was a 
graduate of Grand Ledge High School Class of 1958. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Lou Buckner; brother, 
Martin Hoerner.  Surviving are her husband, James Schrauben; son, Brian 
Schrauben; sisters, Marlene (Tom) Seigo and June (Fred) Mason; brothers, 
LaVerne (Linda) Hoerner, Clyde (Sharon) Hoerner, and Tom (Claudia) Hoerner; 
many nieces and nephews. 

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by the Rev. Cecilio Reyna, Pastor, 
May 12 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rite of Committal following at St. 
Mary Catholic Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman 
Funeral Home, Portland.
