Shirley A. Schrauben, 64, of Portland, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2002.  She 
was born December 3, 1937, the daughter of Stanley and Ernestine (Abram) 
Figurski.

Mrs. Schrauben was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Portland.  
Shirley enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening, traveling and spending time with 
her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Ernestine Figurski.  
Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Don; daughters, Kathy (Mark) Stambaugh 
and Mary Schrauben, both of Portland; sons, Chris (Mandy) Schrauben of 
Portland, Andy (Debbie) Schrauben of Westphalia, and Phil Schrauben (special 
friend Kathy Kubanek) of Manistee; grandchildren, Matthew and Kaitlyn 
Stambaugh, Correy and Carmen Schrauben, Gabriel Schrauben, and Natalie, Kelly 
and Dawn Weber; sister Cynthia “Cindy” (Lanny) Reed of Portland; many nieces 
and nephews, brother and sister-in-laws, and many special friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Charles D. Hall, 
Pastor at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Portland, with 
Rite of Committal following at Portland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 1301 E. 
Grand River Ave., Portland from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. both 
Tuesday and Wednesday with rosaries being prayed at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. both days.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fr. Flohe Foundation or the St. 
Patrick’s Athletic Association, 240 Church St., Portland, MI 48875, in memory 
of Shirley A. Schrauben.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman 
Funeral Home, Portland.
