Donald C. Schrauben, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014.  He 
was born on June 23, 1930 in Riley Township, MI the son of Mathias and Mamie 
(Trierweiler) Schrauben. 

Mr. Schrauben was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Knights of 
Columbus Council #2168, and was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force.  
Donald enjoyed playing cards and sports, especially baseball. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Shirley Schrauben; parents; 
brothers, Matt, Jim, Bill, Vern, Tom and Dennis; sisters, Marie, Elda and 
Arlene.  Surviving are his children, Chris (Mandy) Schrauben of Portland, Andy 
(Debbie) Schrauben of Westphalia, Phil (Kathy) Schrauben of Manistee, Kathy 
(Mark) Stambaugh of Portland, and Mary Schrauben of Portland; grandchildren, 
Matthew and Kaitlyn Stambaugh, Correy and Carmen Schrauben, Gabriel Schrauben, 
Natalie Weber, Kelly (Ross) Boomershine, and Dawn (Jacob) Bender; 7 great 
granddaughters; special friend, Laura VanDyne; sisters, Betty Dinkel and Gert 
Dilley. 

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Larry King at 11:00 
a.m., Monday, January 27, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland.  Rite 
of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 
from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 
210 E. Bridge Street, Portland.  A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Sunday.  
For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Fr. Flohe 
Foundation, or the St. Patrick Athletic Association, in memory of Donald.
