William M. Schrauben
Died-April 25, 2020-age 66 at Portland, MI.
Cause of death was complications from cancer of the head and neck, since the 
spring of 2018.
Born-July 5, 1953 son of the late Bill Sr. & Marie (Gross) Schrauben.
Graduated Portland High School in 1971, studied veterinary medicine at 
Michigan State University, graduating in 1977.
Married September 17, 1977 to Denise Mergener & married 27 years before she 
died in 2005.
Practiced as a small-animal Veterinarian at Arbor Hills Clinic,Jackson, MI.
Retired in 2015 & moved back to Portland.
Bill enjoyed time with family & friends, nurturing & supporting academics & 
athletics in his children & family gatherings at the Looking Glass River.
Enjoyed deer hunting, sci-fi reading, watching MSU sports, golfing, 
gardening.
Survived by 4 children; Nathan, Joel (Sarah) Lee (Keegan) & Eric (Rhiannon) & 
seven younger siblings & their families, nieces & nephews, his mother, Marie 
& five grandchildren.
A celebration of Life on August 114, 2021 at 4 PM at the Red Mill Pavilion in 
Portland.
