Mrs. Marie Schroeder, widow of Frank Schroeder, died Friday evening at the home 
of her son, Lee Schroeder, in Jackson, after a long illness.  She was born in 
Germany in 1862, and came to this country when about 22 years of age.  Her 
married life was spent in Orleans where all of her 10 children were born.  
Rudolph and Ralph passed away in 1940 and those surviving are Paul of Jackson, 
Martha Young of Orleans, Albert of Detroit, Bertha Possehn of Portland, Herman 
of Garden City, Lee of Jackson, Rinehart and William of Ionia; 25 
grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 3:30 Monday at St. John’s Lutheran church in 
Ionia, of which she was a member, and Rev. R. A. Rook, pastor of the church, 
officiated.  She was laid to rest in Orleans cemetery.
