                  DEVOTED CHRISTIAN PASSED AWAY FRIDAY

                                       ------------

MISS JULIA SCHULER OF NEAR WOODLAND LEAVES BROTHERS AND NIECES,

                               FUNERAL MONDAY.

   After a life of devoted Christian service Miss Julia Schuler died at the home
where she was born and where 
she had lived all life.

   She is mourned by a brother, a foster brother and several nieces, and many
friends.

   Miss Schuler was 72 years of age and her special interest was the church of her
choice.

   Funeral services were held Monday at the Evangelical church, with burial in
Lakeside cemetery.

                                        OBITUARY

   Miss Julia Schuler, youngest daughter of Conrad and Caroline Schuler, was born in
Woodland, Mich., March 
22, 1867, and passed away at her home May 12, 1939, aged 72 years, one month and
20days.

   Miss Schuler united with the Woodland Evangelical church at an early age and held
several responsible 
positions.  Among these the treasurership of the Sunday school for some twenty years
and was an efficient 
teacher in the Sunday school.  She found great joy in her Christian fellowship and
was faithful to the church 
until the end.  Her confidence in the Heavenly Father was continual and implicit and
frequently would remark, 
"our Heavenly Father knows and He will take care of us."

   She leaves to mourn her earthly departure one brother Samuel C. of Woodland, one
foster brother Roy G. 
Rowlader of Grand Rapids, six nieces and three great-nieces Maxine, Dorothy and
Elaine Bates, with other 
relatives and friends.

   Although she enjoyed her home, the fellowship of these children contributed much
joy to her in the 
declining years.
