He had been feeble some time and although a physician was called Tuesday afternoon, it was not thought his condition was much worse. He was up and about the house during the afternoon. He was a German by birth but had lived for 40 years in Ionia. Stepsons, of whom Albert Schurr, of Ionia, is one, are among the few surviving relatives. Mrs. Schumacher died several years ago. The body is at Stone’s funeral parlors and will be taken to the Evangelical church early Thursday afternoon, where the services will be conducted at 2 o’clock that afternoon. Rev. A. L. Bingaman will be in charge. Interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery. Should anyone care to view the remains before the service they may call at the funeral parlors, or at the church between 1 o’clock and 2 Thursday afternoon.
