Bob was born June 4, 1941 in Portage to Peter and Grace (Terpstra) Schuring. When Bob was in the third grade his family moved from Portage and started a family dairy farm in Vicksburg. Bob was very active in the family farm business and he left high school in the tenth grade to help on the farm. When Bob was in his twenties he became reacquainted with Virginia Erskine whom he met in high school. On September 10, 1965 Bob and Virginia got married at the Lake Center Bible Church. Once married Bob and Virginia decided to build a home around the corner from the original farm and expanded the business. They farmed dairy cows, feeder cattle, pigs, and 1,000 acres of land. Bob is survived by his wife of 38 years, Virginia; five children and their spouses: Gila and Robert D’Agostino, of Vicksburg; Greg Schuring of Schoolcraft; Charlie and Jodi Schuring of Muir; Kim Schuring of Vicksburg; Chris and Lon Mottor of Muir; five grandchildren: Nick and Lindsey Schuring, Justin Tillison, Mitchell and Tyler Mottor; brother, Harry Schuring of Texas, and brother-in-law, Jim Erskine and his wife Bonnie, of Scotts; and several nieces and nephews. Bob’s Celebration of Life Service is 11 a.m. Thursday at the Lifestory Funeral Homes-Rupert, Durham, Marshall and Gren Vicksburg Chapel, 409 South Main Street., Vicksburg, with Pastor Robert Jourdan officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Burial is Thursday at the North Plains Cemetery in Muir.
