Schwab, 76, died Thursday in Blodgett Hospital, Grand Rapids. He was born August 13, 1892, son of Lewis and Ella Schwab in Spaulding, Ohio where he acquired his education and later taught school. While a young man he moved to Michigan where he joined his brothers. April 2, 1914 he was united in marriage to Rose Keim of Clarksville and engaged in farming until 1936. At that time he became associated with the Federal Farm Program in the Triple A. office for Ionia County. He was employed there seven years and during the war worked at a defense plant in Ionia. Since 1952 he and Mrs.Schwab made their home in Grand Rapids. He was employed at Blodgett hospital nine years and was in charge of the orderly department. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Grand Rapids. Surviving are his wife, Rose; three sons, Harold of Lyons, Leonard of Ionia, Sam of Fort Colins, Colo.; three daughters, Mrs.Lewis Beatty of Grandville, Mrs.William Coates of Ionia, Mrs.Alex Olinsky of Grand Rapids; 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother, Mylo of Sunfield, two sisters,Mrs.Ethel Yeiter of Lowell, Mrs.Jessie Donley of Legonier,Ind. Four brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. from the First Church of Nazarene, Kalamazoo Avenue,SE in Grand Rapids. Burial will be a the Sunset Memorial Gardens, Ionia. The family will be at Zaagman Funeral Home, 1865 Eastern Avenue, SE, Grand Rapids from 7 to 9 Friday evening.
