Ionia Sentinel Standard, 19 Mar 1985

Portland – Glen K. Schwarz, 62, 320 Grant St., Portland, died Monday in 
Lansing.  He was born Aug. 22, 1922 in Leland, the son of Otto and Vada Poppy 
Schwarz.

He was a machine operator for Oldsmobile in Lansing, and a member of United 
Auto Workers Local 652.  He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars 
Post 4090.

Survivors include his wife, Martha; four daughters, Sally Rinks of 
Coopersville, Peggy Adams of Portland, Patricia Starkweather of Charlotte, and 
Mary Scheurer of Saranac; and six grandchildren.  Also surviving are his 
mother, Vada Rossa; and one brother, William, of Marion.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Neller Funeral Home, with 
the Rev. Donald Sutton of the Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating.  
Burial will be in Balcom Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the 
church or the American Cancer Society.
