Scott was largely attended from the home on North Dexter Street, Friday afternoon – there being many present from the orders, the Daughters of Rebekah and Lady Maccabees, in both of which circles she delighted to labor and where she was greatly beloved for her genial companionship as well as for her unselfish activity. Rev. E. E. Branch of the First Baptist church officiated, and there was singing by Mrs. G. Morris Phelps. The remains were laid at rest in the family lot in Balcom cemetery. The husband and son, surviving members of the family, have the heartfelt sympathy of many friends in this time of their great bereavement. The bearers were taken from the brotherhood of Oddfellows, of which Mr. Scott has long been an ardent member.
